Here in the Children’s Library I am very excited to announce our May 2016 programming & story time schedule.

This month we are branching out and trying to create more diverse programming for both the children and teens in Maury County.

Exciting New Developments!

We’ve been away for a little while, but we promise to stick around keep this blog more up-to-date.

We have had a lot going on in the past couple of months. Here is a quick breakdown of all the new things happening in the Children’s Library!

  • We have a new children’s librarian: Mrs. Stephanie Koroll, she has worked at Maury County Public Library for almost three years. She has previous experience as our Reference/IT Librarian and is excited to embark on this new adventure in the Children’s department. Her door is always open and she welcomes visitors!

  • We are revamping our story time working towards a more sensory and active story time experience.
    • We just introduced baby snuggle bugs story times on the 1st and 15th of every month.
    • During this time we welcome babies 0-24 months, to sit in mama’s lap (or her belly), play games, sing songs, and read simple books.
  • We are creating new program to add to our previously successful programs,
    • We are introducing themed parties every month.
    • Teen activities.
    • Coloring Days
    • And More!


For spring break we are doing it up BIG! We have events happening on the 28th, 29th, 30th, and 31st!

  • Monday March 28th is our Maker Day programs. (Currently all workshops are full but we will have another maker day in the future).
  • Tuesday March 29th Family Film Festival
    • 1:00 pm Minions (Popcorn & Snacks provided) Whole family welcome!
    • 5:00 pm Goosebumps (Popcorn & Snacks Provided) Whole family Welcome!
  • Wednesday March 30th Let’s Build With Lego’s Activity
    • We provide the Lego’s you provide the imagination!
    • Each child will receive 30 Lego’s to build a unique creation with. We will take their Lego creation and put it on display in the library for patrons and visitors to vote on. The creation with the most votes will win a Lego Minecraft Set!
  • Thursday March 31st Princess Party
    • We are concluding our weeks’ worth of activities with a princess party!
    • We will be making unique crowns, castles from our painted hand prints, enjoying a snack, playing princess games and MORE!

Exciting February Events!

There have been some changes in our Children’s Department lately. Our Children’s Librarian Mrs. Mecca Caron has moved to Florida and we currently have an Interim Children’s Librarian Mrs. Stephanie Koroll.

Mrs. Koroll invites you all to come and say hello, as she would like to meet all the wonderful children and parent patrons we have.

We have several exciting up-coming programs scheduled in our Children’s & Teen’s departments.

We are also  looking for feedback on all of our programs, so please let us know what you would like to see more of, what you are looking for, and what you expect from the library. Mrs. Stephanie is very open and willing to listen.

Little princesses ages 18 months to 7 years are all invited to our princess party. Join us on February 4, 2016 @ 11:00 am, for a princess story, craft, song, and of course dress up as your favorite princess. Be prepared for fun & games.


Ages 3 to 7 years are invited to join our Knights of the Round Table group. Join us on February 5, 2016 for an epic sword fight, create a custom shields, helmets & armor, archery lesson, a knight story, and dress up as your favorite hero. Arrive at 11:00 am to join us for the fun.

Join us on February 6, 2016 for a fun filled morning and afternoon of lively events for all ages. Scott Tripp the magician and balloon artist will be joining us for a 45 minute program starting at 10:00 am, he will be performing an interactive show. We will be having crafts, story times, library tours, snacks, and more. All are welcome there is no registration or fees!

Galaxy Slime Poster

Open to ages 3 to 7 years join us on February 10, 2016 @ 11:00 am. We will be making an exciting slimy substance for children to play with and take home. This slime is borax free and is an excellent sensory activity. This activity is messy so we suggest you come dressed in clothes that can get dirty.

Frozen Poster Image

You are invited to a winter wonderland party! Dress up as your favorite character from Disney’s Frozen. All princes, princes, snowmen, and snowladies are welcome. Join in on the fun February 8, 2016 @ 11:00 am. We will be making Snow Dough, reading a Frozen Story, making igloos, and having a song/dance party! All ages are welcome!

February Program Schedule


We’ve worked long and hard to come up with an exciting new schedule of events for February for both teens and children.

We have new Maker Events where kids will be performing experiments, and making crazy creations.

We have re-tailored story time to include all age groups and to run FIVE days a week starting in February!

We are re-vamping our programming and we are very excited to have you all along for the ride!
